Small Selection

A small selection of cards recently made. These have been made for my card box at work and I have been playing with the Jewel Britannia kit I recently got.

Made using freebies in a magazine

Cow Girl

We have a friends birthdya shortly and he is a bit cheeky so a Kenny K image seemed perfect for him.

She is hand coloured with promarkers and I used the blending pen to add some highlights. The backing papers are part of a huge pack I brought some time ago, minds eye I think they are called!

Biker chick

Tomorrow is my OH's twins birthday and I got OH to chose an image. They are both learning to ride motorbikes at the moment so he immediately chose this Kenny K image for one of them.

I have used promarkers to colour the image and used greys (mainly cool grey 5 but with cool grey 3 for for the highlighted areas) for her outfit and the tyres. I used cool grey 2 for the metal on the bike to try and give it a chrome look. I used glossy accents on the bike to make it all shiny!

I embossed the panels and stuck on some ribbon.

And created some little buttons!

The main backing paper is a freebie from a fab site http://www.computerscrapbook.com/epapersets.html# They have so many gorgeous papers and they are all free! Every crafters favourite word.

Steampunk Birthday card

Seems like Steampunk is going to be the next thing in card making and I wanted to get in on the action! I love the whole genre, I find there is something very slightly disturbing about it. I think that comes from the films and games (mystery case files, sherlock holmes etc) in the steampunk genre with a sinister edge!

Anyway, couldn't wait to try out a steampunk card so when Kenny K brought out their Steampunk Burlesque images I had to give it a go!
The image is Scarlett West from Kenny K and she is coloured with promarkers.

The papers are from Hobbycraft (and where is all there steampunk stuff??? Spent a good hour trawling the place yesterday!).

I brought the clock face and cogs from the jewellery section in Hobbycraft and used a Tim Holtz mask to create the compass.

I used some of the left over paper to create the corners and used my layered arches martha stewart punch on them.

Happy Birthday Big Boy!

I love Kenny K stamps, especially for masculine cards. They have a lot of images of rather scantily clad women which are prefect!

I made this card as part of selection for a friend and have used one of Kenny K's cowgirl digis.

Used lots of earthy tones in the card, with the light brown dotty paper, deep green card and striped backing paper.

Sentiment inside read Happy Birthday Big Boy in a western font.

Rock Chick

No posts for a week or so and suddenly loads! To be honest been a bit lazy about updating my blog but though about time I caught up.
I have made this card for OH's granddaughter in mind but it is currently in my stash box.
Image is from Kenny K and I have used red and black card. I embossed the red card and punched some 1/4 inch circles out of red mirror board and used glossy accents on them to make them look like brads.
Stamped out the sentiment and matted it onto red mirror board (deliberately cut at an angle!).

I think the card would be fab for a teenager / tweenager and don't often do cards for that age bracket.

Kenny K card

Another masculine card. Have used a burlesque style Kenny K image, coloured with promarkers.

Saucy Birthday card!

Another Kenny K image, this time chosen by OH for his sons birthday.

I have coloured the image with promarkers and used peel offs on the corners. The card is from Papermill (a gift from MIL).

I have highlighted the tips of the hair with red and used glue on the leather boots and pants to make it shinier. I have also used small diamante gems for the belt.

Kenny K boys card

Not updated for a little while, been too busy working and making cards!

Anyway, have fallen in love with Kenny K images and have created a boys card using one of images from there.

Made it into an easel card and used backing paper from my stash. I used mirror board to mat and layer at angles and the sentiment is free rub on that I got with my promarkers.
